Update 17-October 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made an important change to the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern. During the COVID-19 pandemic, students were allowed to choose any five questions out of ten in Section B for each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). This option was introduced to help students who had difficulty preparing.
However, this option has now been removed for the 2025 exam. The World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency on May 5th, 2023. Following this, the NTA decided to go back to the original exam format.
Changes in Exam Pattern:
In JEE Main 2025, Section B will now have only five questions for each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), and Paper 2B (B.Planning). All five questions will be mandatory, so you won’t have the option to skip any questions in this section.
This change will require students to be well-prepared across all topics in the syllabus, as they must answer every question in Section B.
